Ansible: Usage

Show Available Instances

$ cd ${ANSIBLE_GIT_REPO}/wordpress
$ ansible-inventory --graph wordpress_instances
@wordpress_instances:
  |--wp_amsuisse
  |--wp_anavant
  |--wp_azek
  |--wp_azektest
  …

Run Playbook against WordPress

Important

Always update your repository clone first:

$ cd ${ANSIBLE_GIT_REPO}/wordpress
$ git pull --rebase
$ cd ${ANSIBLE_GIT_REPO}/wordpress
$ ansible-playbook playbook.yml -l wp_abbts

Tip

Without -l/--limit the playbook is executed on all instances.

Run Playbook against Nice

Whenever any route is changed, run playbook against Nice too. [1]

$ cd ${ANSIBLE_GIT_REPO}/tocco
$ ansible-playbook playbook.yml -l abbts

Check Mode

The check mode can be used to show what would be changed without actually applying the changes:

$ cd ${ANSIBLE_GIT_REPO}/wordpress
$ ansible-playbook playbook.yml --check
